Baguio's temperature at 7.5!

Last January 15, the morning temperature dipped to 7.5 degrees Celcius, the lowest ever recorded. This was explained to be caused by the northeast monsoon, according to weather forecaster PAGASA. In the northern regions of Benguet, the temperature was even a bit lower at 6 degrees.

The lowest temperature recorded so far in Baguio City was 6 degrees on Jan 1, 1961.

December thru February are the coldest months in Baguio. When I have friends who would like to visit, I advise them to visit mid- to late-January. By the end of February, the climate moves on to warmer temperatures. It's always wonderful to be able to bring out jackets and wear bonnets and mufflers during this cold season! And the cold water experiences of my friends are priceless, told over and over again when we remember happy days in Baguio.
