Mario paper craft

Jo-Lo and I are having a grand time with Super Mario Brothers Wii.  We are now in... surprise surprise... World 9!  Yeah, I thought everything gets finished by World 8 but I was wrong.  However, it's not as easy as it looks.  In order to progress through all eight sub-stages in World 9, you have to collect all gold coins in the 8 Worlds.  A World 9 stage gets opened when you get all coins (3 per stage) in a previous World.

Replay value of this game is really high, and I have yet to enjoy 4-player mayhem.

But that is not what this post is for.  We're enjoying Super Mario so much that we have downloaded some Paper Mario craft.  And these look really nice.  Take the ghost on the top photo, for example.  It's not just a simple paper craft.  It gives you the illusion of the ghost following you with its gaze when you walk across the room.  I'm planning to maka a couple more (less the photo frame) and tape these on our wall.

And then there's the nice mushrooms!
I'm actually planning to pad paper strips onto the original shape to create a more durable papier mache version.

Flowers today, peas tomorrow

Healthy growth all around for my latest vegetable gardening experiment. The snow peas are flowering! I hope to see peas developing soon.

Super Mario Bros. Wii

As a long time fan of Mario and Luigi's adventures, it's wasn't long before we acquired the new Super Mario Brothers Wii. One thing that got me all excited about this game is that it can accommodate up to 4 players at the same time! Cool!

Jo-Lo and I have been playing this game for quite some time now. We are now in World 8, which is the final world for all Mario games (at least, for the ones I have played with). One thing that's very noticeable about this game, though, is that it's a whole lot tougher than the previous versions. Sure, World 1-1 is a walk in the park but it gets increasingly difficult as the game progresses. I guess this is why Jo-Lo would rather stay in the bubble most of the time (where he is immune to harm) while I scramble my way through the maze. And then he asks to be popped out so we can jump to the flagpole together!

Even though we're already nearing the end, we still have some places that we skipped on, and star coins that we need collecting, so we still have a long way to go.

We are enjoying this game immensely. I even had the chance to have a go with this game with 4 players, and it was mayhem! Well, principally because my companions have never played any Mario games before. Made me wish my brother Doods were here. We'd surely zip through the levels!

Neew Super Mario Brothers Wii: highly recommended!

Squash patch

I said in my previous post that I decided not to plant anything for the moment because of the impending winter. Well, this plant seems intent on taking over for the meantime.
The seeds came from the squash which we used for a veggie dish. I did not really expect it to grow, like the other seeds that came from supermarket produce. But there it is, crawling about.
And it's even bearing fruit! Amazing. So the squash plant is now receiving everyday watering like the sweet peas.
