This two-storey building is located along Bonifacio Street near Malcolm Square, and houses a number of shops, notably Pang-Hoi and Tiong San Bazaar which have been there for as long as I can remember.
Back when I was a working student in University, Tiong San was the place to go to when we have refunds from our school fees. And when I was much younger, we bought our fishing hook and line from Pang Hoi to catch fish from Burnham Lake and while away the time.
I only realized recently that this building is very much a part of Baguio's history as it is mine.

Naguilian Road Archway
Naguilian Road is one of three main roads linking Baguio City to the lowlands. We used to frequent this area as well because one of my friends live near here. To the left is the Lourdes Grotto, which is one of the places I bring my friends to whenever I play Tourist Guide.

Superman: Secret Identity
To all parents out there, never name your kid with exactly the same name as your favourite super hero, tv character, holiday, or worse, restaurant food. He/she will be traumatised from grade school all through his golden days.
Consider Clark Kent from this comic book Superman: Secret Identity. He isn't really Clark Kent of Superman fame. It's just that their family name is Kent and so his parents found it a novelty to name him Clark because he also has black hair. He was no stranger to taunts from his peers. Imagine what a normal boy would feel like.

Filipino Praise Songs
Call me sentimental, but one fine afternoon I found myself looking for the song Hiram sa Diyos because I dreamt I was at Baguio Cathedral and singing this song while celebrating mass. This led to more YouTube discoveries, which I am posting here so I can come back to these time and again... and I'd like to share these with you as well!
We make the most heartful songs... this one, Hiram sa Diyos, is quite an emotional one.
Sino ako (Hiram sa Diyos)

Streamline cake
Long before Red Ribbon and Goldilocks, even long before Sunshine started its own line of baked goods, there was only one cake for us for our birthdays. It was the Streamline cake which we bought at U-Need Bakery and Grocery near Malcolm Square.

The Baguio Cathedral
This is one of our visits to the Baguio Cathedral during our stay in our hometown last January 2011. This area has changed a lot since the last time we were here two years ago. To be honest, majority of these changes are not aesthetically pleasing... but I'm getting ahead of myself. On to the story.
On this visit, we went by way of the entrance opposite the Post Office area. In one of the sheltered spaces lie the image of Jesus Christ when he died. The glass coffin protects the image from wear, but if I remember it right, there is a small opening at the hand or foot area intended for people to touch the image. Some scrolled pieces of paper can also be seen inside the coffin, most likely containing prayers and petitions of devotees.
